WHAT IS DERMAPLANING?
 

Dermaplaning is a mechanical exfoliation of the skin that uses a surgical scalpel to gently scrape away dead cells and vellus hair (aka peach fuzz) from your skin’s surface. Similar to shaving, it’s typically performed on the face—but because the provider uses a scalpel rather than a razor, the sloughing goes deeper than you’re able to achieve at home. Dermaplaning can be performed on small areas of skin or on the entire face. This treatment can be used alone or in conjunction with other procedures such as chemical peels or laser treatments.

Dermaplaning’s purpose is to give your skin an immediate exfoliation for a luminous glow, dewy skin, faster cell turnover, and a smoother texture. It also allows any products you apply after to penetrate deeper. This means that makeup can be applied with far more ease and precision, and overall has a far better finish.
