HOW DOES MIRADRY WORK?
MiraDry uses thermal energy that targets and eliminates both the sweat and odor glands in your underarms. Eccrine and apocrine glands in the axilla are responsible for creating sweat and odor. These glands, along with a high density of hair follicles, are found below the surface of the skin at the dermal-fat interface. To achieve gland and follicle elimination, precise, concentrated, and focused microwave energy is delivered to the dermal-fat interface. Continuous hydroceramic cooling protects the dermis while heat spreads to the dermal-fat interface, eliminating the targeted glands and follicles.
Once those glands are eliminated, they do not grow back. You are born with approximately 2-4 million sweat glands throughout your body. Your underarms only contain about 2% of those glands. Eliminating that 2% of those glands, does not effect your body's ability to naturally cool itself.
The treatment is typically complete in one hour, and you should see results in as little as one treatment.
